ISO22000 certificate
We are proud to announce in December 2015 we achieved our ISO22000 (2005) certification. ISO22000 is a Food Safety Management System that can be applied to any organization in the food chain, farm to fork.
Becoming certified to ISO 22000 : 2005 allows Steller Packing to show customers that we have a food safety management system in place, providing enhanced confidence in our practice and services.
ISO 22000:2005 sets out the requirements for a food safety management system and can be certified to. It maps out what an organization needs to do to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe. It can be used by any organization regardless of its size or position in the food chain.
We are excited to announce the acquisition of an additional premises.
Currently occupying 3 adjoining units (VX & Y) within the Paddock Wood Distribution Centre, Steller Packing has now added a further 17,285 sq ft (1,605m²) with the addition of the neighbouring Unit R.
The expansion into Unit R has allowed us to increase the number of packing facilities we can utilise and increase the volume of warehousing and racking space available – benefiting our staff and customers alike.
The extra space is enabling us to accept higher volumes of work, increasing the turnaround times and capacity of stock we can hold. In turn, this offers more flexibility, reliability and convenience to our customers.
Busy times are afoot for the Steller Packing staff whilst the transfer of stock takes place, however, we luckily have plenty of boxes and packing materials to help us on our way!
We are pleased to announce that we have added another shrink-wrap machine to our collection with the purchase of a floor-standing chamber sealer. The machine is operated using a digital control panel and will process up to 500 packs per hour. By looking through the clear shrink hood, we can maintain precision control over the product being processed within… adjusting the heat or processing time where necessary – a function particularly useful when applying heat-shrink sleeves to products.
The new machine offers us the flexibility to choose both PVC and polyolefin wraps and, if needed, can be used without film whilst using shrink-sleeves. The machine will also accommodate many different sizes of product due to the adjustable film rack and adjustable packing table. As the machine is single-person operable, this really helps us to drive down the cost per unit for our customers.
Steller Packing now has three l-sealing and heat shrinking machines – manual and semi-automatic, tunnel and chamber – making us well equipped for your sealing, wrapping and sleeving needs!
