ADA Packaging's gorgeous new Diamond cream jars

  • ADA Packaging

ADA Packaging, founded in 1999 and one of the leading manufacturers of  cosmetic packaging products in China, has released its interesting new  line of Diamond jars, completely made of PETG and featuring high  transparency and completely spherical internal containment.

PETG is a thermoformable plastic which is easily recycled.  It has a phenomenal capacity for maintaining its transparency even when formed and configured, without  losing its shine or colour, if colour has indeed been added.  The  material also offers a high resistance to chemicals and is excellent in  either thermoforming or blow moulding processes.  This is why ADA  selected the material to create its Diamond line - the company needed an  inexpensive, easy-to-use material with very high transparency that could  also fight stress whitening (when transparency is lost and replaced by  milky whiteness at stress points in the packaging).

The image featured shows various decoration techniques that have been  used to create the end product.  In this case, the PETG base has been  tinted blue while maintaining transparency with a touch of iridescence  thrown in for good measure.

The inside of the container is completely spherical, so that creams and  gels can be placed inside the lower half and topped off.  A novel  approach might be to enclose a harder, more compact product in the  packaging as a perfect sphere, to be worn down through use by the consumer.
