Airolux AG has announced the successful first deliveries as part of a large supply contract with Super-Max, the world’s second-largest manufacturer of razor blades. This supply agreement, which will run over several years, concerns volumes in the double-digit million units of eco-friendly dispensers which are able to operate with compressed air instead of environmentally harmful propellants. The innovative Airopack dispensers are revolutionary and represent a true paradigm shift in dispenser technology. The dispensers are manufactured by Airolux AG – a joint venture of IPS and Resilux, located in Bilten, Switzerland.
- A very significant milestone in the history of Airolux
- A multi-year contract for the supply of double-digit millions of units to Super-Max, the second-largest manufacturer of razor blades in the world
- Airopack dispensers operate without any propellants thanks to eco-friendly Swiss technology and compressed-air
- Airopack units are manufactured with 65 per cent fewer CO2 emissions and 20 per cent less energy than aluminium aerosol cans
Quint Kelders, Member of the Board of Airlolux AG, comments, “I am proud that we have been able to win Super-Max, the world’s second largest manufacturer of razor blades, for our revolutionary Airopack product. This is a very significant milestone for Airolux. Consumers are increasingly placing more importance on eco-friendly products and in future the market will no longer accept products with harmful propellants. Manufacturers of products delivered in dispensers and similar packaging will soon be making attempts to set themselves apart from the competition with eco-friendly solutions.”
Airopack is an aerosol alternative based on pure compressed air instead of commonly used propellants. This technology makes it possible to fill liquids, creams, gels or foams into plastic containers instead of cans made of tinplate or aluminium and then to dispense the contents with constant pressure by means of a unique pressure-control system. When manufacturing the dispensers, CO2 emissions can be reduced by as much as 65 per cent and energy consumption by approximately 20 per cent compared to common aluminium aerosol cans. In addition to this ecological focus, further advantages of Airopack dispensers compared to conventional products include simplified storage and shipping as well as new product marketing opportunities, not least because of the transparent PET plastic containers. The Airopack dispensers are filled with the customer’s various products, labelled, packed and shipped ready-for-sale using a high-speed filling and automated packing line.
Super-Max is the world’s second-largest producer of razor blades. The new Enviro shaving gels for both men and women are available exclusively in Airopack dispensers and offer various skin care formulas. Only natural products are used to manufacture the Enviro product line. “Super-Max Enviro is a pioneer in the eco-friendly and innovative production of shaving gels and they are obviously the best possible ambassadors for Airopack dispensers”, adds Kelders. With this move, Supermax is positioning itself for the first time in the area of eco-friendly, sustainable products – using packaging technology manufactured in Switzerland.
