Cogitel a subsidiary of Altea Packaging Group, has been awarded two prizes in the fifth edition of the National competition for Best Packaging "Tunisia Star Pack 2010". Cerealis Snacks Tortillas and Sotubi Saida House Recipe packaging were honored for their technical quality.
Since 2002, the Technical Center of Packing and Packaging “Packtec” organizes" Tunisia Star Pack", a National Competition for the Best Packaging. The event purports to be a "barometer of industrial developments" in Tunisia. It helps to stimulate creativity, innovation and companies’ competitiveness.
Mounir Hendiri, Prepress Manager at Prepack, a subsidiary of Altea Packaging, states that the two award-winning packages are the result of a technical performance. Both have been printed in 9 colors gravure printing on Matt Film Finish. The difficulty of printing on matt film, integration between background and image, good printability of small images in full color and complexity of design require a high-tech printing, he adds.
According to Nadia Zeghal, General Manager of Cogitel, both awards are even more remarkable as those products demand specific packaging requirements in terms of barriers to aroma, moisture and oxygen, allowing longer shelf life. Mrs Zeghal notes that these prizes are the result of close collaboration between the various units of Altea Packaging Group and especially the two new subsidiaries, Prepack, for prepress and Altea films for metallization, particularly for the Cerealis Snacks Tortillas packaging.
Mourad Ben Amor, Regional Sales Manager, expresses gratitude to customers Sotubi and Cerealis for their renewed confidence and the quality they have enabled Cogitel to achieve. He adds that it is thanks to its strong relationships with its Tunisian customers that Cogitel was able to succeed in important export developments, with a share of turnover of more than 40% outside of Tunisia for the first quarter of 2010.
