    Rexam, a leading global can maker, has opened a new state-of-the-art graphic and design studio, providing a unique offering for customers with on the spot design expertise, platemaking and proofing.

    The studio, situated at the heart of Rexam's European central office in Luton (UK), will act as a one-stop-shop to showcase Rexam's graphic and design capabilities for customers. Complete with a suite for marketing teams to brainstorm designs, the studio has been developed with the customer front of mind.

    Speaking about the new studio, Paul Winright, European Graphics and Design Manager said:

    "We recognise that visualising flat designs as three dimensional metal cans can be difficult. Now our customers can brainstorm a design and by the end of the day, see the artwork on a can there and then. Being able to work so closely with our customers through every step of the design process is an invaluable relationship building exercise."

    The brand new platemaking and proofing equipment in the graphic and design studio accommodates printing on all Rexam's European can sizes including the FUSION™ aluminium bottle (with the exception of one litre cans).

    Rexam supports British craft brewer Hobsons, with move to beverage cans

    Rexam has partnered with British craft beer brand, Hobsons, to launch 'The Hat Collection', the brand's first ever range of canned beers. Traditionally a cask and bottled brewer, Hobsons is moving to cans. The new range, inspired by the symbolic coke hat, showcases the Hobsons logo with each beer named and designed around a different hat’s personality.     Rexam collaborates with Hofjäger to can first beer for Chinese market

    Rexam, a leading global can maker, has partnered with German beer company Denninghoffs, owner of the brand Hofjäger, to can its Schwarzbier and Weizenbier ranges. The new canned format will launch for the first time in China in May 2016 before being rolled out globally. The iconic cans use Rexam's high definition printing to bring to life an image of a traditional Bavarian hunter, set against dark and tan backgrounds to reflect the character of the beers.

    Rexam has collaborated with Big Shock, a prominent Czech energy drink brand, to create a limited edition range of can designs. Created for Big Shock's original and gold flavours, the designs reflect the dynamic and adventurous nature of the car expedition. The weathered look and feel of the design incorporates passport stamps and map coordinates, encouraging consumers to engage and follow the 15,000km journey.

    Rexam, a leading global can maker, proudly announces the completed construction and inauguration of its new wall-to-wall manufacturing plant in Widnau, Switzerland. The hi-tech plant will produce a range of Slim and Sleek™ cans to meet global growth in energy drinks and marks the culmination of collaborative working and innovative thinking, with environmental consideration as its core. The plant, which represents an investment of £115 million over 3 years, will have a capacity to produce 2.2 billion cans per year and starts up with one line operational with a further 2 lines to come on stream.

    Rexam offers customers two new sleek can sizes

    Rexam has added two new can sizes to its Sleek® family, reaffirming its position as a leading global can maker with the largest range of can sizes in the industry. The new 400ml and the 473ml super sleek cans, both with 202 ends, are manufactured in Ejpovice, Czech Republic, and are available to customers across Europe. Providing a sophisticated and modern packaging solution, the 400ml can is an ideal shape and size for on-the-go consumption. The new 202 end on the 473ml offers Rexam's customers a more convenient filling format and is available in addition to the existing 206 end.

    Budweiser Budvar celebrates 120th anniversary with limited edition Rexam cans

    Rexam has collaborated with Czech brewer, Budweiser Budvar, to create a limited edition can design celebrating 120 years of the Budvar brewery. Rexam and Budvar worked together to create a unique design that encapsulates Budvar's history and communicates the premium nature of the beer. Using value added matt over-varnish and careful colour matching, the stand out design celebrates the anniversary and brand traditions with a visual depiction of a 19th century barmaid.

    Rexam first to produce commercial beverage cans with 'Metal Recycles Forever' logo in UK

    Rexam is proud to announce the first commercial use of the Metal Recycles Forever logo in the UK market, printed on cans produced for micro-brewing customer Concrete Cow. The logo, endorsed by all members of Metal Packaging Europe, provides a definitive symbol for the metal packaging industry. Its creation is part of a behavioural change campaign, intended to inform consumers about the inherent recyclability of metal packaging, ultimately encouraging them to recycle more.

    Rexam has partnered with acáo, the forward-thinking German drinks start-up, to launch a new organic vegan 'Smart Drink' in Rexam's stylish 250ml slim cans. The cans use Rexam's HD printing to bring to life a detailed illustration of the brand's mascot, the Macaw Parrot, resulting in a striking can with strong stand out on shelf. The value added matt-over varnish finish gives a premium feel, reflecting the brand's sophistication, and appealing to the key target consumer.

    Gold Rating for sustainability performance: EcoVadis ranks Ball Packaging Europe among top 1 percent of suppliers

    Ball scored yet another success in its overall sustainability efforts, now ranking among the top 1 percent of the 150 suppliers assessed within the fabricated metal category based on the EcoVadis sustainability rating platform. Ball's latest score of 75 now ranks it highly compared to a group/peer average score of 41.5. In addition, across all suppliers being evaluated, Ball was ranked among the top 5 percent performers and thus takes home yet another gold rating.
