RPC Group, a global design and engineering company specialising in polymer conversion in packaging and non-packaging markets, has acquired GCS operations to join the company's centres of excellence around the world.

As a long-established manufacturer and supplier of closure and dispensing solutions, with a proven reputation for innovation and technical excellence, GCS provides the ideal fit to RPC’s existing packaging businesses, enabling the company to further enhance its offering of combined container and closure solutions.

Equally important, GCS’s strong international presence – with 21 production sites and two mould shops in 13 countries – will also strengthen RPC’s global network that enables the company to support both its multinational as well as smaller national and local customers.

“We are delighted to welcome GCS into the RPC Group,” comments RPC Chief Executive Pim Vervaat. “The coming together of our business offers new and existing customers an unbeatable combination of skills and expertise to provide complete tailored solutions in a wide variety of end markets.”

The GCS factories have been incorporated into the RPC Bramlage division.

In addition to its acquisition of Global Closure Systems, RPC Group also acquired British Polythene Industries PLC (BPI) in 2016 seeing the company's turnover surpass £2bn.
