CKS Packaging and SafeHouse Outreach: A 40-Year Partnership Transforming Lives

  • CKS Packaging
North America, USA

Serving Atlanta since 1982, SafeHouse Outreach’s mission is to help restore lives experiencing extreme poverty to independent living through faith, love, and compassionate service.

For over 40 years, CKS Packaging has been a partner and supporter of SHO and deceased founder Philip Bray. CKS Founder, Charles K. Sewell heard Philip speak at an event and recognized that Philip had a heart for the homeless of Atlanta, offering a hand-up instead of a hand-out. Feeling compassion for this man’s vision, Charles offered financial support.

Today, SHO provides meals five days a week, housing, job skills training, bus tickets to reunite families, and post office boxes so they can receive mail. Hot showers are also offered, along with counseling, and a safe, Christ-centered environment.

Jonathan Arvanites, pictured on the far left, entered the CKS Second Chance Program, where we take in non-violent, non-sex offenders and offer them a second chance career. Jonathan has been at CKS for 8 years and has not only advanced into a management position as a Corporate Operations Manager, but he is also a SafeHouse Outreach board member. Jonathan told CKS CEO, John Sewell at the Gala that “CKS saved his life.”

CKS Packaging and the Sewell Family are blessed to receive this award honoring our partnership with SafeHouse Outreach.
