High barrier retort lidding for award winning Sweet Quinoa range

We were delighted to be involved in an award winning, innovative new product range recently for a customer. The Sweet Quinoa product range from Virú was a Grand Prix winner at the SIAL Innovation Awards in Paris last year.

Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Grootegast supplied the high barrier retort lidding film for the Quinoa With Fruit range which is ready to eat, gluten and GMO free. It comes in multiple sizes and in six delicious flavour combinations.

The Sweet Quinoa line beat off stiff competition from 2,188 entrants for having innovative characteristics and new benefits for consumers.

SIAL Paris is the world’s largest food innovation exhibition; a worldwide food community meeting with thousands of exhibitors presenting their products from all over the world.

Retort packaging allows for the sterile packing of a wide variety of food products and is used to ensure a long product shelf life and quality to the end user. The technology offers a sustainable, cost effective alternative to traditional aluminium cans and glass jars.
