Cosmopack 2018 presents news and trends for the cosmetic industry

Cosmopack, the world-famous event in conjunction with Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna that involves the entire beauty supply chain, is scheduled in Bologna from Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th March 2018, to gather under one roof the international leaders of the cosmetic industry and all its related components: raw materials, machineries and automation solutions for the supply chain, contract manufacturing and full service, applicators, primary and secondary packaging.

For 2018 the event marks a significant growth of 6%. 464 exhibitors are already confirmed and the waiting list is constantly growing. 55% of the exhibiting companies come from abroad, with 28 countries represented. The presence of country pavilions from France, Korea, Poland and Greece has been confirmed, together with highly qualified companies from China and Taiwan.

The recent scouting initiatives led in key international markets, supported by the ITA (Italian Trade Agency) and the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, saw a roadshow program promoting Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, reinforcing the brand identity of Cosmopack and its role as a benchmark for the international beauty supply chain. More than 23,000 visitors are expected in Bologna in March, with a remarkable increase in foreign attendance.

New emerging markets will be involved thanks to the International Buyer Program, the initiative by Cosmoprof facilitating networking among companies, distributors and buyers looking for new business projects. The machinery segment is growing, with an increasing presence of international market leaders. New exhibitors from abroad are also confirmed in the field of contract manufacturing and private label. There is an interesting growth of companies specialized in secondary packaging, particularly paper converting.

Cosmopack is a unique appointment to understand the evolution of the cosmetic supply chain at an international level, the perfect stage for companies to present a premiere of their new collections, their technologies and their most advanced solutions for all the segments of the cosmetic industry: make-up, skincare, nail and personal care. Spotlights on trends, innovation, smart manufacturing solutions, the most innovative results of scientific research in terms of formulation, proposals for cutting-edge packaging design, but also digital solutions, artificial intelligence and virtual reality.

To facilitate networking and business opportunities between exhibiting companies and the most influential professionals in the beauty sector, Cosmopack 2018 opens simultaneously with Cosmo | Perfumery & Cosmetics, the area of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna dedicated to specialists in retail, perfumery and cosmetics, selective perfumery, mass-tige and prestige perfumery, green and natural, and to international pavilions. In this way the network of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna pursues the goal of increasing the synergy among production chain, finished product brands, distributors and retailers, creating a tailor-made exhibition according to the specific needs of each sector.

COSMOPACK FACTORY

Among the special initiatives of the 2018 edition, The Cosmopack Factory; the format, celebrating its 6th edition, will evolve into Powderful, a project leading to the production of an all-over palette, from product concept to design, from the production process to the most suitable store position and the most strategic costumer experience, specifically thought for retail distribution. The initiative is organized in partnership with HCP, Ancorotti Cosmetics, Vetraco Group, Nastritex, Pennelli Faro and Ars Metallo, which are developing the design for Powderful, conceived by the international agency Centedegrés. For the first time the area, located in hall 19 at Cosmoprime, will focus on the retail shopping experience, with new virtual reality technologies, thanks to the collaboration of the international retail agency MCI, and new in-store experience solutions, presented in cooperation with Else Corp.

COSMOPACK AWARDS

The Cosmoprof Worldwide platform presents for the first time the Cosmopack Awards 2018, the natural evolution of The Cosmopack Wall Awards. In collaboration with a qualified jury of international experts and opinion leaders, selected thanks to the partnership with Beautystreams, the Cosmopack Awards will honor research and innovation among the industrial solutions presented by the Cosmopack exhibitors. At the same time, the Cosmoprof Awards will reward the most performing finished product brands on the market, which better follow consumers’ expectations.

Through a newly developed digital platform, www.cosmoprofawards.com, all exhibiting companies can apply for the Cosmopack Awards by submitting their projects no later than February 5, 2018.

COSMOTALKS

The most interesting topics of discussion for the cosmetic industry at 360° will be the subject of Cosmotalks, the indepth sessions of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2018. Among the issues specifically dedicated to the production chain, the online magazine CosmeticsDesign.com will moderate a round table focusing on innovation in the world of packaging. The latest color trends will be presented by international speakers selected in collaboration with Peclers Paris, while experts of new technologies for the retail channel will analyze the general impact of new purchase dynamics on the production chain, thanks to the collaboration with the magazine Allure.

Cosmoprof & Cosmopack awards: the finalists

The finalists of Cosmoprof Awards 2018, curated in partnership with Beautystreams, have finally been announced. Among the 582 proposals sent by exhibiting companies, 20 products have been selected for Cosmoprof, according to 5 categories and celebrating their innovation, communication and marketing strategy, and 20 projects/solutions for the beauty industry have been chosen for Cosmopack for their technological appeal, creativity and sustainability. 26 international experts as members of the jury will be asked to choose the winners, which will be celebrated with a special ceremony on Friday, March 16th. Winners will receive a special trophy designed by Centdegrés.

The world of perfumery and cosmetics to go on show in Bologna

At the 2018 edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna a new tailor-made format will facilitate networking and business opportunities for companies, retailers and professional operators attending the event, and fulfilling the specific needs of each sector. This is the latest that Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna is proposing for its next edition, with a diversification of opening days for each sector: 15-18 March for all those working in the retail channel, for perfumery and cosmetics, green beauty and international pavilions; in conjunction with Cosmopack from 16-19 March for beauty professionals in hair, nail and aesthetics & spa segments, with China and Taiwan country pavilions.
