Aerosol and dispensing solution manufacturer Coster Group has announced that it is increasing BOV (bag on valve) capacity at its dedicated production sites in the USA and Italy.
Once considered a niche product for special applications, BOVs have now become a popular, innovative delivery system for many pharmaceutical applications. Coster is gearing up to serve the continuously growing demand, adding more production capacity to serve clients effectively all over the world.
Appreciated more and more by pharmaceutical companies and consumers alike, BOVs are an innovative packaging solution capable of dispensing products safely, effectively, and conveniently. The dual compartment technology used keeps products separated from the propellant, away from external contamination. Moreover, formulations can be dispensed in any form (liquid, gel, cream, or highly viscous substances) and in any position (inverted or upright).
In 2013, Coster completed its capacity increase in the USA while the Italian site will witness the installation of high output machines, with completion set for the first half of 2015. Over a 4-year period, Coster will more than double its BOV capacity in the USA and around 40% in Italy, further strengthening its position as one of the market's leaders.
Popular pharmaceutical applications using Coster BOV technology include:
Sea water solutions (used for nasal cleaning) are very successful nowadays and clients can also benefit from Coster’s new version of its "Salus" actuator, specifically designed to meet the needs of pharmaceutical clients due to the use of high gamma irradiation materials for sterilization.
Thanks to Coster’s ongoing investments, customers can continue to benefit from high quality products, short lead times, and outstanding customer service in the fast-growing BOV market.
