Waitrose & Partners supports CuanTec packaging development

Scottish biotec company CuanTec has joined forces with Waitrose & Partners to work on a new film for food packaging made out of waste langoustine shells. Waitrose hopes the new packaging could be used as an alternative to conventional plastic film on some of its fish products in 12-18 months time, including Waitrose Duchy smoked salmon.

CuanTec take top prize in HIGGS edge competition

At a glittering awards ceremony in Edinburgh on 22nd June, innovative Scottish start-up business CuanTec won the top prize of £150,000 at Scottish EDGE’s Round 10 competition for science, technology and engineering-focused businesses, the Higgs EDGE.
