De Jong Packaging is currently working hard to double its production capacity. It is expected that a second corrugated cardboard machine, state-of-the-art automatic internal transport and extra processing machines will all be operational within a few months. Pack Online recently published an extensive report about this, as well as issuing photos of this huge project.
De Jong Packaging started an investment programme worth many millions of euros last year to double its production to 600 million corrugated cardboard boxes per year.
“We are doing this to meet our company’s significant international growth”, said Arie Barendregt, Commercial Director at the company owned by Henk de Jong. “The first corrugated cardboard machine was put into operation in 2007 and this is now running at full capacity. This meant that we really needed a second corrugated cardboard machine, especially as there is significant demand in the Netherlands for our fresh produce, flower and industry packaging and we also see many opportunities on the big markets in Germany and England. That’s why we presented our company at the Empack in Hamburg in January, the IPM in Essen and we will be at the Empack in Birmingham at the end of February.”
