The Opportunity:
We met Branston Potatoes at the Packaging Innovations Show where we learned they were having difficulty with their existing packaging system. Potatoes at the bottom of their units were being crushed as a result of the weight above.

The Solution:
Our team undertook a detailed examination of the client’s existing system and the problems it caused. We then designed four bespoke expanded void fillers which were lightweight, strong and eco-friendly. Each option had different benefits and price points and were developed into prototypes for testing. We proved that our solution was the most efficient transportable solution with the least amount of weight.

The Outcome:
Our trials identified which of the four routes would be most suitable and the solution was rolled out to all the potato suppliers into Tesco ahead of the Summer season. We now enjoy a long term relationship with the client who appreciated our proactive, solution-centred approach. They appreciated having more than one solution to choose from and are confident that our honeycomb packaging is lightweight, strong and sustainable.
