Epopack launches a new PCR PET range dedicated to sustainability

  • Epopack

The virtues of PET as a packaging medium have become nearly universally recognized. The material is one of the most eminently recyclable plastics available today. With the new Epopack Eco line, the company now offers 100% PCR PET containers that can do a lot for a firm seeking to improve sustainability numbers and do its part to be more sensitive to the environment.

The PCR PET that Epopack uses for it's new Eco line is 100% recycled material that has been reclaimed from consumer waste and put through a specific process to ensure it is usable for packaging. Old packaging components are collected and sorted such that PET bottles are isolated and separated. Materials that are not recyclable or need to undergo other processes are removed, including bottle neck rings and labels. PET packaging items then pass through breakers, vibrators, and separators, and are finally crushed into flakes which can easily be melted and fused into PET resins.

Epopack's offering of both PET and PCR PET items in the Eco line can be used in molds ranging from 15ml all the way up to 50ml. This gives companies a way to launch a number of products in a range for a cosmetic or personal care line while taking into account that the materials used will not be impacting as heavily on the environment as it assuredly could.

Colours offered include neutral, emerald, white and others.
