EPOPACK has more than 30 years experience in R&D and manufacturing serving the beauty and cosmetic industry, focusing on PET packaging.
From the the very beginning of the company's establishment, Epopack has targeted to serving the needs of cosmetic companies, providing high quality and ideal packaging designs accordingly.
The company has gone through many transitions of packaging product developments. At first, Epopack was a dispensing pump component importer and in order to find a perfect match for those accessories, it started to produce glass and acrylic bottles. During this time period, Epopack's founder, Mr. Pan, got a chance to volunteer his own time to participate work in a local recycling station, and he spotted one particular acrylic bottle made by Epopack amongst the many that were there.
Mr. Pan was very excited when he saw that Epopack's packaging was part of the post consumer cycle, but frustrated when he realized that the acrylic bottle being identified as Plastic #7, meaning “Other” in vast plastic catagory, not safe for recycling.
He learnt that without segregating the different plastic materials, it limited the range of recycling possibilities. Therefore, when he returned to the office, he decided to do things differently and better.
Since that day, EPOPACK has been committed to providing high quality packaging solutions to customers whilst keeping a respectful and sustainable enterprise responsibility towards the environment.
The first material choice of Epopack - PET
According to the company’s yearly experience, PET is an ideal material for cosmetic products, and the reason is not only an eco-friendly one.
PET solves the breaking issue from glass bottles, because it is unbreakable, and the carbon footprint compared with glass bottles is also reduced.
PET has excellent chemical resistance. Therefore, when customers change their packaging form acrylic to PET, the cracking issue can be dismissed.
PET can be made crystal clear, while the other most common plastic material - PP cannot achieve this finish.
PET is well known for its ability to be recycled easily.
In fact, almost everything made in PET can be recycled, but the reusing ranges are all different. PET has international recycle code number 1, which has the most complete recycling system and the recycling amount is very stable, therefore, after PET bottles are recycled, the PET can be used for a wide range of uses.
If the reusing ranges are too limited then it is not practical to recycle it.
