Up-cycling is a continuously growing trend. It is similar to recycling as it helps to conserve energy, protect the environment, and reduce pollution and global warming. But unlike recycling, it doesn’t require energy and resources to collect, sort and process – it’s a greener way to recycle.
Up-cycling is about finding a new purpose for waste and creating something better.
Favini has incorporated this reasoning into its latest product range – Remake. Already well known for its Crush range of eco-friendly paper that replaces paper pulp with process residues from fruit and nuts, Favini has applied the same thinking by taking unwanted waste from leather processing and adding it to Remake.
The leather fibres make up 25% of the paper mix and replace the same amount of wood and tree pulp. The remaining paper is made up of 30% post-consumer recycled fibres and 45% virgin wood pulp fibres – both are FSC certified.
