At the inaugural Packaging Première an exhibition in Milan dedicated to luxury packaging, Sumo wears a new colourful dress!

    5 colours X 1 thickness = Sumo Colours

This is the formula that announces the extension of the Sumo range with 5 new colours.

This graphics specialty “of thickness” has, in few months since its launch succeeded in the markets thanks to its form close to 3D, is now getting colourful with new intense colours.

After the success of the classic and timeless black and white, the new range Sumo Colours comprises five additional shades: Blue, Kraft Brown, Red, Light Grey and Dark Grey. These shades enhance Sumo’s range offer with a brightness, energy and elegance.

Now these Sumo shades give designers and creatives the opportunity to add a touch of colour to their packaging and creative works that need to be differentiated by refined style. Such as labels for clothing, invitations, covers, exclusive displays and window signs, to even the most creative packaging.

Available in 1 mm thickness, equivalent to 700 gsm, Sumo Colours are integrated into the range of high quality board Sumo.

To develop Sumo, Favini’s R&D department carefully considered both the technical and aesthetic aspects, from colour, texture and also its pleasant feel.

Additionally, the consistency of its surface colour extends all the way through to the heart of this bulky solid dyed board meaning that an elegant cross section is revealed when and where ever its cut edge is exposed. For true styling that makes the difference.

    Examples of applications for Sumo

Sumo, in black and white as well as the new shades of Sumo Colours, are suitable for a wide range of applications, such as POS material and tags for clothing.

This display signage uses black glossy hot foil Tecnofoil FMG 699 on Sumo Black 2 mm, then die-cut.
Thanks to the dying process and the perfect match between the surface colour right through to the centre of the board, we are able to admire the cross section and it avoids the need for additional covering process.

To coordinate with this display, additional clothing labels were produced with a die-cut silhouette and with hot foil on Sumo Black then laminated to different colours of Sumo Colours 1 mm.

These drinks coasters were produced using different shades of Sumo Colours. The logo and the lettering created by a dry embossing technique; thanks to its high thickness, Sumo is particularly suitable for this technique.
