Final judging has come in for this year's WorldStar awards, offered yearly by the World Packaging Organisation. WPO Members met in Vienna at the end of this past year to review candidate items as part of the organization's 97th board meeting. Two of Giflor's items, the Eco low profile flip-top cap for tubes and the Eco low profile bi-color flip-top cap for bottles were selected as winners within the "Health & Beauty" category.

To get an idea of the scope of the awards, representatives from 23 packaging associations (including members of the WPO) judged 291 packaging projects from 35 countries. The winners were a small set of the initial award respondents.

According to the official WorldStar site, the Eco low profile bi-color flip-top cap for bottles, item 844, was selected because it "maximizes the product's shelf impact with an elegant design and a wonderful customizable combination of hues that catches the consumer's eye". The concept was also described as "the perfect match between ethic and aesthetic: a catchy and colorful solution but, simultaneously, really sustainable!"

The Eco low profile flip-top cap for tubes, item 772, was much the same and described as "an extremely lightweight breakthrough solution for flexible tubes, designed to maximize sustainability, processes, and cost savings".
