The minister of the Scottish government McKee visits Guala Closures

On Monday 11th February, the headquarter of Spinetta Marengo of Guala Closures hosted Ivan Mckee, Minister of Commerce, Investment and Innovation of the Scottish government; his visit follows few months the expansion of the Group in Scotland, thanks to the acquisition of UCP (“United Closures and Platics”), manufacturer of closures specializing in particular in spirits sector, and testifies from one side the rootedness in Scotland of our reality and the other how sensitive Scottish institutions are.

The meeting, promoted by Elite (London Stock Exchange Group) developed between the visit of the plant and the comparison with the top management of Guala Closures Marco Giovannini, CEO of GC, and Franco Bove, COO of GC; to welcome there were also the Prefect, Antonio Apruzzese, the Mayor of Alessandria, Gianfranco Cuttica di Revigliasco, the city council president, Emanuele Locci, and Pier Angelo Taverna, President of Cra Foundation.

The Minister McKee was particularly impressed by our “e-WAK®”, the first aluminium smart closure for wine that, thanks to an integrate NFC chip, allows the consumer to connect directly with the winery and shows the informations about the product information simply touching the cap with the smartphone.
