Duofold combines the best attributes of clear, box-grade plastic and paperboard to produce a truly distinctive visual package. Combining these two dissimilar substrates allows for some very unique structural designs, while providing two distinctive visual, textural and tactile impressions.

Soft Crease® scored rigid film can be used to create multiple plastic box panels or to make windows that wrap around multiple score lines, permitting far greater visibility that conventional windowed paperboard cartons. What’s more, the rigid film adds integrity and strength, allowing much larger windows than is possible using lightweight window film.

And for even greater shelf impact, any combination of offset, flexo and/or silkscreen printing, plus foil stamping and other decorating special effects, can be applied to either the plastic or paperboard panels, or both.

InSight is an award-winning transparent packaging system that combines clear plastic sleeves and injection molded plastic end caps to produce a very distinctive clear package. It has a patented locking feature, where die-cut tabs on the clear plastic sleeves engage undercuts molded into the end caps to join the components securely together. End caps can be designed to lock permanently to the plastic sleeve or to twist off easily.

The shape of the end caps determines the package's cross-sectional profile; therefore, InSight clear packaging can be designed in a nearly endless variety of profiles, including "cat's eye", oval, round, rectangle, square, and trapezoid.

When production volumes don't justify the investment in injection molding tools, our patented Klearfold Keeper clear packaging system offers distinctive structural designs, similar to InSight, but at less cost. The Klearfold Keeper clear packaging system consists of a clear plastic sleeve that's designed to lock to a vacuum-formed tray or clear plastic clamshell. Vac-trays and clamshells are fabricated to conform to the shape of the product and to the desired cross-sectional package profile.

Klearfold Keeper offers easy and efficient hand-filling… the product is loaded into the vac-tray and the sub-assembly slides into the clear plastic sleeve. In-folded tabs on the sleeve engage a specially designed flange on the vac-form, locking the two components securely together, without the need for wafer seals or the use of sonic, RF, or heat sealing equipment.

A thumb-notch perforation in a corner of the clear plastic sleeve provides a unique, easy-opening feature. Removing the thumb-notch also removes the lock, allowing the tray to be easily disengaged from the clear sleeve.

To produce the highest quality clear plastic boxes, we start with the finest quality, box-grade plastics available: premium grade APET, RPET, bio-PET, PETG, PP and PVC.

We purchase materials from only the world's best producers, always to our more demanding appearance and performance specifications. The result is clear plastic packaging with better and more consistent clarity, virtually no visual defects, higher impact strength, and better scratch resistance. For a more sustainable alternative to traditional plastic boxes, our proprietary RPET is made with 30% post consumer recycled content and up to 30% of our PlantBox® bio-PET is derived from plant-based sources.

Both our RPET and bio-PET substrates possess all same properties and characteristics as our standard box-grade PET, and our RPET and PlantBox plastic boxes offer the same the appearance, quality and performance as our renowned Klearfold® PET cartons.

To further ensure material quality, we have begun a vertical integration program. Our custom extruders produce more demanding box-grade plastics exclusively, creating premium-quality substrates that are extremely uniform, crystal clear, and defect-free.

Klearfold PlantBox® cartons are a more renewable alternative to traditional plastic folding cartons. They are made from box-grade bio-PET (bio-based polyethylene terephthalate), up to 30% of which is derived from plant-based sources. PlantBox cartons offer the same appearance, quality and performance as standard Klearfold PET cartons.

All PET is made up of 30% monoethylene glycol (MEG) and 70% terephthalic acid (PTA). But with bio-PET, the MEG component is derived from the renewable agricultural crop, sugarcane, thus reducing the consumption of fossil fuel-based resources.

HLP Klearfold's bio-PET resin is produced by Toyota Tsusho, a major supplier of bio-PET resin, marketed under their GLOBIO™ brand. To better manage PlantBox quality and our bio-PET supply chain, HLP Klearfold produces PlantBox bio-PET sheet material on our own custom extruders.

Clear plastic tubes, rounds and ovals really stand out in a sea of rectangles on store shelves. We apply the same high-quality printing and decorating techniques to our rolled-edge tubes for a one-of-a-kind shelf presence. Our clear plastic tubes are extremely sturdy, providing a prestigious look and feel.

We've also developed rolled-edge tubes with tapered sidewalls that nest for improved shipping efficiency, while providing a distinctive shelf appearance. And in addition to standard and tapered plastic tubes with glued side seams, we offer rolled-edge tubes that are sonically sealed for applications where adhesive-free clear tubes are preferable.
