New design options for 2-stage mascara bottles

    • HS Plastic

HS Plastic, one of Asia's largest producers and distributors of packaging components to the Asian and European cosmetic markets, has released new design and decoration options for its incredibly popular range of 2-stage mascara bottles.  The bottles created a stir earlier this year thanks to a double applicator system that provides full coverage and density.

The company has combined various decoration techniques in order to create specific looks with strong visual appeal to different target markets.

The "Art Deco" style features a decorated surface that has been pressed into interlocking geometrical shapes rather than a flat surface.  the effect, when combined with gold coloured surfacing, creates a multi-faceted and straight-lined look reminiscent of complements popular during the Roaring 20s (hence the "Deco" reference).  The combination of decoration techniques provides a sense of flirtatious lavishness that's hard to ignore.

The "Luxury" style uses a translucent, crystalline grid wrapper to create the look of fine crystal on the tube, hearkening back to the cool, futuristic look of the early 70s, when Vidal Sasoon was king of the angular yet sumptuous Bauhaus look, and complements were works of art in themselves.  The "Luxury" style provides more heft than the others, perfect for consumer segments that value durability as well as visual appeal.

The "Symbolic" style uses pattern printing directly on the tube to create a simple and elegant presentation for a corporate identity, combining screen printing, hot-stamping, colouring, and metallization in the exact measure required to create the perfect addition to a make-up line.

Clients can request the new styles up front or work directly with HS Plastic to customize the decoration further.
