Production of PET, PLA & DAIRY bottles & preforms.

    History

It begins from afar, it lives the present as a protagonist, looking to the future: this is the story of I.F.A.P. S.p.a., inheritor of a tradition of entrepreneurship with its origins in the early twentieth century in Friuli, the Italian region located in the heart of Europe.
The birth of the current company in Palmanova dates back to the early 1960s, with the production and sale of wooden blinds in response to the housing needs of the economic boom of those years. The company fulfils its first strategic change in less than a decade, becoming a plastic industry that produces blinds and PVC cable conduits.
In the early 80's, following the introduction of PET for food packaging and faithful to its innovative spirit, the company makes a radical turning point and starts the production of preforms (semi-finished) and bottles for drinks and mineral waters.

In the early years of 2000, I.F.A.P. enters the fresh milk and dairy products market. The leading product is the innovative 'multi-layer' preform that provides a total barrier to light allowing to maintain the organoleptic characteristics of the product in the long term (over 3 months). To follow, a further development of the product range with the introduction of preforms for the detergents and cosmetics market. Still looking to the future, the last major innovation is the production of preforms and bottles for milk and oil, with eco-friendly material of natural origin such as PLA.

    References and collaborations

I.F.A.P. began producing bottles and plastic PET preforms to meet the needs of Coca Cola in the 80’s: since then, the collaborative relationship with this great partner has expanded, since supplies no longer covered only the Italian but also the foreign market.
Over the last few years I.F.A.P. also made important commercial agreements with leading dairy cooperatives and with primary market leader companies.
Its name spread abroad by partnering with large companies both in the milk and detergents market. With a view to continuous research / development of innovative products, it participates in a project at a national level (Biopack) that aims at further developing alternative plastics to petroleum, through the collaboration with leading companies in the food and packaging industries, the Politecnico di Torino and the University of Pisa and Alessandria.
