What’s New at CPHI Milan 2024
Standing on the shoulders of 35 pharma and science champions
CPHI has grown dramatically over the last three and half decades. Alongside this, the advancement of the pharma industry has been even more impressive, with contributions to global innovation and human health growing exponentially.
The FDA is now regularly approving over 50 new medicines each year, reaching an all-time high 73 in 2023 – including the first ever CRISPR–Cas9-edited therapy and a disease-modifying Alzheimer’s drug.
As we celebrate these prestigious innovations – that you, our attendees, directly contribute to –CPHI acknowledges that what is possible today is built on the shoulders of the giants of science from yesterday. Throughout the show-floor we’ll be promoting the achievements of 35 heroes of pharma and science. This will span historical greats like Edward Jenner (smallpox vaccine), Alexander Fleming (Penicillin), and Paul Ehrlich – the founding father of immunotherapy – to more recent champions like Robert Langer (nanomedicine), Carl June (CAR-Ts) and Özlem Türeci (mRNA vaccine). There will be a number of onsite programmes related to this celebration, so come together in Milan and celebrate everything the industry has achieved…. and look ahead to everything we can achieve tomorrow. Through deep partnerships and collaborations many of these recent advances have been made possible, a legacy we look to continue as the industry comes together.
