API Laminates has announced a significant increase in production capacity for its class-leading Transmet laminate following the recent upgrade and commissioning of its new Transmet module on the state-of-the-art Laminator 4 production line at its Poynton manufacturing site.

Transmet is API’s film-free laminate option for paperboard which provides an all-over, print-receptive coating to the base material in a bright metallic finish. The brightness and physical characteristics are class leading and suitable for use across all commonly used printing technologies, providing stand-out shelf impact and enhancement to a wide variety of branded products.

“API has a track record of continuous investment in our capabilities to ensure we continue to offer the best products, quality and service to our customers,” comments Dino Kiriakopoulos, API’s President and CEO. “Our Transmet product has been recognised as the market leader in Europe and its film free finish provides brand owners with a fully recyclable material.”

The unique characteristics of API’s Laminator 4 ensure that Transmet laminates are manufactured to exceptionally high tolerance, a requirement demanded for print registration. It also is capable of producing a complete range of laminate finishes including Transmet holographic which enables brands to select the laminate style and effect that adds unique visual impact to their product’s packaging.

“API offers a wealth of products and services to companies worldwide to enhance and protect their brands,” explains Will Oldham Chief Commercial Officer at API. “The investment across all our foil, laminate and holographic sites ensures we can provide brand owners and printer converters with a complete range of solutions together with the service levels they demand and deserve.”
