Olive oil has been praised for thousands of years, its virtues and qualities exalted by countless writers. For good reasons – the oil itself, as long as it is fresh, keeps all its promises! The way it is poured, however, is rather frustrating.
Extracting oil from its container can be a risky operation. Often enough, it ends up in overpouring on a carefully prepared dish or leaving an oily bottle with grease stains on a countertop, a table, or, even worse, on a favourite dress or suit.
Many olive oil consumers will transfer the oil that was bought at the store to a smaller bottle fitted with a standard pourer (the type used in bars), to avoid the risk of a greasy pouring experience.
