Kornelis caps & closures has developed an LCA tool. LCA means Life Cycle Assessment and is a method to calculate the overall environmental impact of a product. The LCA is based on the Product Life Cycle: from extraction of resources, to production of materials and parts, to the production of the final product, the use phase, including transport and the waste treatment.

With this tool, Kornelis caps & closures offers its customers the opportunity to compare the environmental impact of a closure with that of a comparable/competitive closure. For example, a PP closure can be compared to a metal closure. And it is also possible to compare two or more similar products to see which has the best footprint and which product uses the fewest materials.
