Today we want to tell you about a product that we have started to produce recently: the flip-top cap. It’s an innovative closure type, particularly suited for the hair products sector, but that can also be used for cosmetics and herbal products.

This is how it works. It consists essentially of two parts: the flip, the lower part which closes the container, and the top, which in turn closes the flip. The two parts are connected by a special small plastic strip, which in technical terms is called hinge and which acts almost as a spring. Thanks to this characteristic, the product is particularly appreciated by end users, who more and more are looking for practicality and ease of use in packaging.

But experience in the field of cosmetics teaches us that practicality on its own is not enough: another element that packaging for this type of industry just cannot do without is attention to design and details. Our flip-top cap is made entirely of PP (polypropylene) and can be customized according to the Client’s needs.

This means that clients can choose the basic colouring, available with the standard or Pantone colours, as well as the subsequent decoration, which is done by pad printing. Simply put, we use soft and flexible pads that make it possible to accurately reproduce text, drawings and various decorations on the cap.

With this new product we are increasing our range and also continuing the pursuit of excellence that has been our company’s hallmark since its foundation, in 1965 (read here about the history of Mav).

Some technical information

The year 2015 marks the introduction of a new MAV product, a jar that we designed primarily for the needs of a medium-high target within the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and herbal sectors. It is a real innovation over the previous jar series. 

What distinguishes it most from our other products is the soft roundness of the lines, the thicker walls and the elegant design. An alluring jar, in line with the most recent packaging trends, which are moving more and more towards the pursuit of exclusivity. In line with this choice we also designed a cap specifically for this jar, one that extends its curves naturally and gives prestige to the entire packaging.

The customization possibilities are endless. For example: the Client can ask to match the jar with other Mav caps, thus achieving a personal and distinctive combination. As with all our products, we also offer adecoration service, which in this specific case is made with screen printing.

If we had to say what inspired us in the creation of this packaging, we would say the opportunity of offering our clients an instrument that is up to the high standards of their products. A container capable of conveying to the end user the characteristics of excellence, quality and reliability of the product it contains.
