MICEN, as a packaging manufacturer, is on the front lines of energy consumption. Therefore, the company always keeps in mind it has to do its best to reduce CO2 emissions.
MICEN has implemented excellent building thermal insulation, all of the company lights were replaced by LED lights, it is regularly upgrading its equipment and optimizing production processes, and it also utilizes rainwater recycling for the cooling system of production. These actions demonstrate a commitment to energy efficiency, environmental protection, and water conservation. By optimizing the thermal insulation of the plant, it can reduce the amount of energy required for heating and cooling, leading to lower CO2 emissions.
Furthermore, utilizing rainwater for the cooling system reduces the reliance on freshwater sources, conserving a valuable resource. This water-saving approach can contribute to sustainability efforts by minimizing water consumption and reducing the strain on local water supplies.
By combining these practices, the company effectively reduces its environmental impact and promotes a more sustainable operation. These efforts not only contribute to reducing CO2 emissions but also demonstrate responsible resource management, which is essential for a greener and more sustainable future
MICEN's great ambition for 2024-2025 is adopting rooftop photovoltaic (PV) power generation, a significant step towards reducing CO2 emissions and transitioning to renewable energy sources. The potential to cover up to 30% of the company's production consumption through rooftop PV power generation is a substantial commitment to renewable energy. By generating its own electricity on-site, MICEN will become less dependent on external energy suppliers and the associated risks of price volatility and potential disruptions in the energy supply.
Apart from all these investments in renewable energy, MICEN also worked on other actions and strategies like Product Innovation, Waste Reduction and Employee Engagement to reduce CO2 emissions:
- Developing and promoting low-carbon or carbon-neutral products and services. This involves using eco-friendly materials, optimizing product life cycles, or creating sustainable alternatives to existing products.
- Implementing waste reduction and recycling programs to minimize waste sent to landfills. This includes using recycled materials, optimizing packaging, and encouraging customers to recycle or return products.
- Educating and engaging employees to promote sustainability practices within the company. This involves training programs, incentives for energy-saving initiatives, and encouraging eco-friendly behaviors in the workplace.
Together we can make a difference. MICEN works with you for our planet, for a greener future!
