New CRC closures for CPSC requirements

MJS Packaging has introduced a new line of two-piece push down and turn closures to meet the US Consumer Product Safety Commission's (CPSC) new requirement for child-resistant packaging on products containing imidazolines (vasoconstrictor drugs). The closures are available in two sizes: 15mm for dropper tip packages and 18mm for elongated nasal spray packages.

New TPE technology makes cap sealants safer and sustainable

Most sealants for metal lids and caps are manufactured from liquid PVC compounds which require high temperatures for curing. These PVC-based sealant compounds contain phthalates or other plasticizers that are added to the formulation to increase elasticity and workability, thus softening the seal. TPE technology solves the issue, saves energy, reduces CO2 emissions and reduces production costs whilst meeting the requirements of sustainable production.

M. Jacob & Sons announces its rebrand: MJS Packaging

M. Jacob & Sons has announced that as of January 14th, 2014 it has changed its name to MJS Packaging. In addition, its wholly-owned companies Packaging Consultants Group and Dye Packaging will also begin doing business as MJS Packaging. These changes are effective immediately.

New plastic growler in amber

One of the fastest growing segments in the food and beverage business is specialty or craft beer – micro-breweries, brew-pubs and the home brewing market. The beer aficionado uses a flint-glass 64-oz growler to take fresh draught beer from the tap and also to store the beer at home. Now, MJS Packaging has announced a new 64-oz PET growler in light amber as a viable substitute for comparable glass growlers.

New ROPP Closures by MJS Packaging

MJS Packaging, in conjunction with Alplast, introduces its new line of Aluminum Roll On Pilfer-Proof (ROPP) Closures for the distilled spirit, wine, aperitif, and liqueur markets. These threaded aluminum ROPP caps can be flat litho and rotary offset printed in up to four colors. Standard sizes are from 18x12mm to 31.5x60mm and are fitted with standard EPE liners with other liner options available upon request.
