Plastic tube manufacturer Tu-Plast has officially opened its new production facility in Debrecen. The facility offers 6,600 square metres of space for a total of eight tube lines. The new site will allow the Hungarian subsidiary of Hoffmann Neopac AG to expand its annual production capacity to 300-500 million tubes.
Tu-Plast has been extensively investing in Hungary since 2012 with the support of Hoffmann Neopac AG. The most recent expansion took only 10 months to complete, doubling the space available at the production facility and increasing the company's warehousing capacity five-fold. Annual production capacity has now increased to 300 million tubes.
In addition, the company is creating some 60 new jobs in Debrecen. The company’s investments total over five billion forints.
Speakers at the official opening ceremony on 26th June included Hungarian Foreign Minister, Péter Szijjártó; Mayor of Debrecen, László Papp, Swiss Ambassador to Hungary, Jean-François Paroz; and CEO of Hoffmann Neopac AG, Mark Aegler.
"The expansion in Hungary has a number of key advantages for the group", emphasised Aegler. "We can respond more flexibly to our customers needs and can offer a complete range of PE, Coex and Polyfoil® tubes for the cosmetics and FMCG industries. Tu-Plast requires qualified, multilingual employees in order to handle the automated processing and international customer service needed at such a high level. The Debrecen has a key advantage in that the local university is training first-class employees for the Hungarian business community."
