As an experienced and reliable manufacturer of pharmaceutical primary packaging for topical applications, Neopac asked itself the following question: Which complex pharmaceutical forms can be simplified in future with existing materials and processes? In close collaboration with system suppliers in the medical field, the company has released the fruit of several years’ research and development. Its new transparent, flexible, medical tubes are a novel alternative to glass for parenteral preparations.
Fitted with a male Luer Lock, the “Fube” can facilitate the work of nursing staff in the parenteral product sector. There is no longer any need to use a syringe to release medication from the vial. The medicinal product is safely packaged thanks to the high barrier properties of the medical tube. Simply remove the seal and, without further ado, pour the medicinal product directly from the medical tube into the catheter or IV bag, for instance. With a female Luer Lock, the transparent tube can be directly connected to a syringe. No need to change needles – the contents of the “vial” tube can be distributed directly into the syringe.
The medical tube is an ideal silicon- and tungsten-free primary packaging material for the pharmaceutical industry and there is no risk of broken glass. The flexible tube offers interesting advantages in terms of ease and safety of administration. All of the materials used satisfy the high requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. These packaging materials can also be sterilized using radiation. The medical tube is made from transparent laminate possessing high barrier qualities under fully tested clean room conditions. Filling under aseptic conditions and packaging are carried out using a specially designed system that complies with product-specific requirements.
Neopac has a competent partner in Harro Höfliger as a company that was able to develop a suitable line concept for the medical tube. Together, Neopac and Harro Höfliger offer cutting-edge designs ranging from packaging materials through to filling systems.
