Neopac's Fleximed now in large format

In response to great demand for more capacity, Fleximed®, the new primary packaging for parenteral applications produced by Neopac, is now available in a large diameter. The existing Fleximed Vial and Fleximed Easymix tubes have diameters of 13.5 and 16mm and are ideal for medical substances, parenteral applications, loading syringes or mixing single doses for infusion.

Our customers have now discovered the potential of the Fleximed® tube for greater capacity. We are currently developing a Fleximed tube in 30mm diameter for contents of 25 to 75ml. We are delighted by the high level of customer interest in the new tube packaging.

Ralf Künzi, Business Development at Neopac

The Fleximed packaging system was engineered by Neopac to simplify drug preparation and administration by providing convenience, reliability and safety. The system comes with numerous attachment options to ensure 100% compatibility in real-world situations.

By using the Fleximed Luerlock, the tubes can be connected directly to catheters or IV bags. With the Fleximed Vial attachment, the tubes can be attached directly to syringes. Finally, the Fleximed Easymix option offers the incredible ability to include a dry product and a liquid product (or two liquid products) in the same small tube that can be mixed just prior to use, ensuring maximum product efficacy.

The Fleximed® tubes are engineered with materials that satisfy the strict requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. Their tungsten-free primary packaging materials were made specifically for the market and the tubes can be sterilized using radiation. Furthermore, the tubes are lined with a high-barrier transparent laminate. They are produced in Switzerland under fully qualified clean room conditions.

At the European Tube Manufacturers Association conference 2012, Neopac won the prize 'Tube of the Year, 2012' in the category 'prototype'. Neopac impressed the jury with Fleximed, its range of transparent, flexible, medical tubes that serve as a smart alternative to glass for parenteral packaging.
