Obeikan MDF organised a special event to witness the laying of the foundation stone of its new manufacturing plant that will be located in Alzira, near from Valencia, Spain. The Obeikan managers were accompanied by a group of important clients and local politicians.

Abdallah Obeikan CEO of the Obeikan Investment Group and Salvador Martínez the Managing Director of Obeikan MDF presided over the ceremony in Alzira and were accompanied by the President of the Generalitat of Valencia, Alberto Fabra and the Mayoress of Alzira, Elena Bastidas. Both the President of the Generalitat and the Mayoress did not want to miss such a significant event for the employees, clients and residents of the region since the future operation of the plant will mean a significant economic boost for the area.

The aim of Obeikan MDF is for the first phase of the new facility to be completed in 2015 and the second phase in 2018.

The Obeikan Group estimates that the plant, which will have a floor area of 34,000 square metres, will be fully operational by 2020, when it will have a production capacity of 200 million packages per year. The project will involve an investment of 140 million euros.
