CNTFC currently have two men’s football teams playing in the Witney & District Football League. The club welcomes players from a wide range of backgrounds and ages and are a vital part of the Chipping Norton local sporting community to which they have participated in for over a decade.
The men’s first team have begun the new 2016/2017 football season in a new football kit sponsored by Owen Mumford. This sponsorship is a further local community focused initiative for Owen Mumford as they also support; the Villager Bus in Chipping Norton, a partnership with the Conservation Wychwood Project and an Environmental Solar Panel Initiative with the Low Carbon Hub.
Treasurer, long-time member of the club and ex Owen Mumford employee, Adam Hunt, approached Owen Mumford for support to obtain the much needed new kit and equipment.
He said: “We contacted Owen Mumford asking if they would be interested in sponsoring the club for this upcoming season (2016/2017) and were absolutely delighted that they agreed to provide a new men’s football kit. We pride ourselves on being a club that is genuinely a big part of the local community. The vast majority of players live in the town and many of us have played for the club since we were young. A lot of hard work is carried out by people at the club to try and obtain sponsorship from businesses based in the area, which is something the club relies on to keep going. The new football kit has given everyone a huge boost and are very proud to be wearing the Owen Mumford logo on our shirts”.
The club have also created a unique logo which has been applied to the football kit shirts in memory of former player, friend and ex Owen Mumford employee Shaun Weller, who tragically passed away back in 2012 following illness. Shaun’s family would like to say a huge thank you to the club and Owen Mumford for honouring Shaun by having the football shirts embroidered with his name and feather.
Gavin Jones, Group Finance Director of Owen Mumford commented; “We’re extremely proud of the support we can provide to our local community. This partnership continues our commitment towards local sports and we hope it will help ensure the club can continue to develop within the local community.
