Before post-consumer recycled PET (rPET) packaging became popular, Placon was extruding and thermoforming the material into our popular stock lines of retail plastic clamshells to help mitigate our dependence on virgin, petroleum-based materials. To continue pushing advancements in recycling plastic bottles and thermoforms with the #1 resin identification symbol, we opened our own state-of-the-art PET recycling facility next to our Madison headquarters in 2011.
