From 24 to 28 April 2017, Hannover Messe will once again host several international leading trade fairs under one roof: Industrial Automation, Motion, Drive & Automation, Digital Factory, Wind, ComVac, Industrial Supply, Surface Technology and Research & Technology. With around 5,000 exhibitors from more than 70 countries, the Hannover Messe is one of the world's most important technology events and a major meeting point for international decision-makers. Of course, Pöppelmann will also be present at the fair, this year with two exhibition boothes (hall 6, booth B18 and Hall 21, Stand B13). At our exhibition booth in hall 6, our business divisions KAPSTO® and K-TECH® will provide insight about innovative solutions and explaining what Industry 4.0 means to the plastics specialist from Lohne. The main focus is on topics like speed, customisation and weight reduction of components. "The Hannover Messe is an extremely important trade fair for us. One of the highlights will be the introduction of our new service, FastLane. We are looking forward to introducing it to the specialist audience at the Hannover Messe and are really eager to see their reactions", explains Thorsten Koldehoff, Sales Manager at KAPSTO®.
FastLane – Special parts at record speed.
From an international supplier our customers always expect perfect solutions. To meet these high expectations, we work continuously on improving them. This is why Pöppelmann KAPSTO®, our business division for plastic protective elements, will be introducing our latest optional service at the Hannover Messe: FastLane. For many customers, speed is always a key issue in the development and production phases of special parts, especially in running processes. Customised plastic solutions are requested – and within a very short time. We designed FastLane to enable our customers to save time, thus gaining a real competitive advantage. This is where Pöppelmann sets new standards. Soon it will be possible to produce a large number of customised plastic protective elements in record time: thanks to FastLane, the time required to create serial moulds is reduced to less than 1 month for the majority of the parts! At the Hannover Messe, we will give detailed information on FastLane. – Start counting the days.
To make the topics of Industry 4.0 and customisation tangible for trade fair visitors, Pöppelmann and the Arburg family business, one of the world's leading machine manufacturers for the plastics processing industry, are going to produce personalised luggage tags live on various stations at the exhibition stands. They are produced according to the principle of spatially distributed production and demonstrate how flexibly automated and economical production can be. To customise the product, injection moulding, industrial additive production and automation are combined into one system and the process data is recorded by the ALS computer host system. Pöppelmann demonstrates the advantages of the 4.0 business model "Web Shop": The customer enters his individual product requirements online. A QR code is generated from his "order" and mailed directly to his smartphone or printed on paper. At the Arburg stand (Hall 6, Stand K16), this information is read out with a scanner and the job data is then transferred onto the NFC chip in the luggage tag for further processing. Thus, the component itself turns into a data carrier that identifies itself at each station and controls its own manufacturing steps. Finally, a freeformer continues customising the luggage tag by adding the previously selected design in 3D out of plastic. This is how a series product becomes a customised item that is one-of-a-kind.
Innovative solutions for weight reduction by Pöppelmann K-TECH®.
The Pöppelmann K-TECH® business division works intensively on the topic of component weight reduction and this is also going to be dealt with at the Pöppelmann exhibition stand. Lightweight design is no longer a core task restricted to the automotive industry: total weight reduction is also very important in other industries – especially if it helps to reduce operational costs. A decisive factor for weight reduction is the material. Especially when it comes to replacing metal parts with plastic ones. The MuCell® process allows us to develop solutions with extra functions and with the simultaneous benefit of having reduced weight and costs. We have also used organic sheets successfully in serial production, and they can even be combined with MuCell® components. Our experts at the Hannover Messe will be more than happy to inform you about their efficient ways of working – for economical and perfectly functioning plastic solutions from one single source.
Trade fair visitors can see further Pöppelmann solutions and product innovations in hall 21, booth B13, where our KAPSTO® business division is presenting a large number of products such as the new GPN 241 standard series – a protective cap which has been specifically developed to protect the connection area of SAE quick connectors. They will also gain insight on the GPN 335 grip closures, the GPN 737 sealing plugs with O ring and the GPN 1050 hexagonal caps. These are designed to protect hydraulic components such as engine compartments, pumps, valves and even gaskets from dust, damage and soiling. Our latest service, KAPSTO® FastLane, is, of course, also presented at this exhibition stand.
