Quadpack Group is publishing its environmental report this month, following an extensive internal review conducted with service partner Lavola. The report contains a study of the company's environmental impact, along with a summary of action points to minimize it.
"This report is based on our environmental policy, demonstrating our global commitment to sustainability", says Quadpack Supply Chain Manager Alex San Miguel.
"At Quadpack, we take corporate responsibility very seriously, not only towards people, but also the planet. By partnering with Lavola, we have produced a rigorous report that extends throughout the enterprise, from our factories, through our offices, to our manufacturing partners. We now have a framework in place that will ensure our environmental management is second to none."
The environmental report covers Quadpack's Manufacturing Division in Torelló, Catalonia, as well as its administrative and sales offices and central test laboratory. It analyses material consumption, transport, emissions, energy use and other environmental factors.
Action points include a €400k investment in new emissions control equipment at the manufacturing plant that will allow Quadpack to exceed all current and future legislation. The creation of a charitable foundation is also planned this year in support of young people in the communities in which the company is present.
In addition, the manufacturing facilities of Quadpack Group company Technotraf Wood Packaging have been listed on Sedex. Sedex, the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange, is a non-profit organization dedicated to driving improvements in responsible and ethical business practices in global supply chains. The Technotraf factory exceeded the ethical requirements of the audit, carried out to attain the listing.
