Throughout 2024, Quadpack Foundation engaged with its network of NGOs to support young people in need, while preparing the ground for a major new social impact initiative
40 projects, 339 beneficiaries, 27 social entities, 128 volunteers, 9 countries. That was the year 2024 in numbers for Quadpack Foundation.
The corporate foundation continued its work to help young people in situations of social exclusion. Throughout the year, it collaborated with NGOs in all nine countries in which it is present, on projects that support their education and integration in the employment market. Quadpack volunteers participated in programmes ranging from mentoring and language training, to mock interviews, job shadowing and more.
One inspiring outcome – following a business mentorship by Quadpack Foundation's President – was the opening of the Oki Doki Sushi restaurant in London’s Brixton by a coachee of the Baytree Centre, which supports women facing barriers to success including trauma, poverty and lack of networks. Baytree Centre’s Board of Trustees includes Ozohu Adoh, CEO of luxury beauty brand and long-time Quadpack client Epara.
The foundation’s mission aligns with Quadpack’s B Corp status in that it seeks to inspire others in the value chain. Acting as a catalyst, it aims to get stakeholders involved in making a positive impact. Its first Open Day, held at its Barcelona headquarters on 6 November, gathered local young people, businesses, NGOs and volunteers. Themed “What does it mean to be young in this neighbourhood?”, it included a networking breakfast and workshops, promoting collaboration and empowering the next generation.
The event was a precursor to the launch in 2025 of Project Orion, a social impact initiative that seeks to create a ‘constellation’ of companies committed to offering internships to young people in vulnerable situations, improving their skills and expanding their employability. The name is a nod to astronomy; Orion has two of the 10 brightest stars in the sky, visible from anywhere on earth.
Foundation Manager Marta Gil said: “There are many talented young people in vulnerable situations and also many companies who are willing to help, but don’t have the knowledge and processes to include them in their workforce. Project Orion is designed to help break the cycle. By working together and engaging our network, we can multiply our impact to create more opportunities for young people. We’re starting in Catalonia and we warmly invite all of our stakeholders to reach out and get involved!”
With Quadpack joining Texen as part of PSB Industries, the potential for Quadpack Foundation to scale up its impact increases significantly, extending its reach in France, as well as in Mexico and Poland, where Texen already plays a significant role in local communities.
The social entities Quadpack Foundation collaborated with in 2024 include: Apprentis d’Auteuil, Baytree Centre, Berry Street, Caritas Ambrosiana, Caritas Kronach, Caritas Germany - Multigenerational house, Casal dels Infants, Centro Accoglienza Ambrosiano, Cruz Roja, Eat Up Australia, Emmaüs Défi, Esclat, Feed My Starving Children, FEMCET, Fundació Carles Blanch - Centre Sant Jaume, Fundación Aurea, Fundación Blanquerna, Fundación Gavina, Fundación Impulsa, Fundación Quiero Trabajo, Gesamtschule Kierspe, Haregate Community Centre, La Vinya, Onday, Stepping Stone, TEB Barcelona, Toys for tots.
