Stiplastics has specifically developed and then manufactured a special pill dispenser that is essential for Lynparza (Olaparib) treatment compliance, a pharmaceutical used to treat recurring ovarian cancer. This is a very heavy treatment (eight big tablets in two daily doses) with some significant potential side effects, sometimes resulting in non-compliance. These are mainly due to forgetting the number of doses already taken during the day, since most women split the full dose in in several takes.

However, the treatment requires patients to be completely assiduous in taking their medication. The firm’s aim, since there is a significant number of oral cancer treatments, is to help women take their medicines at the right dose. Basically, they wanted women to be able to split their take and always know for sure how many pills are left. AstraZeneca carried out a study with patients, proving that the pill dispenser helped them significantly in knowing where they were with their daily doses. Treatment compliance improved and the stress associated with forgetting or overdosing was long forgotten, the pill dispenser is a real help for patients in treatment.
