Often, when marketing a new product, companies try to create beautifully coloured packaging to contain products that themselves could be their own best marketing vehicle. Having an attractive or eye-catching colour or texture is usually considered to be a benefit by consumers, and it’s a shame that many companies rely on opaque packaging for products that could easily appeal to consumers if they were given he opportunity to do so.
To that end, SHB has just introduced new high-transparency models of its GEMO 200ml bottles. The bottles are made of a nearly transparent form of PP that provides a good level of barrier protection while allowing the product contained within to show through. The bottles are perfect for products that are rich and creamy in texture and appealing in colour. Further, the bottles offer a pleasing oval shape that is easy to hold and takes up little surface space.
SHB has also introduced the process for its 300ml GETT bottle, in the same shape and style as the GEMO line, to maximize the number of products that company can release in a cohesive line. Both offer large surface areas for decoration and are made of tough and resilient materials that ensure proper use from first use up to full product evacuation.
Another motivating benefit is cost. The high-transparency is achieved through a new use of high-gloss PP instead of PET, the material of choice typically used for transparent packaging. The process that SHB uses ensures that the PP reaches a level of transparency comparable to PET, and it can be requested for any of SHB’s lines, with no additional costs for pre-forms.
