The two additional sites are the first of the company’s European facilities to receive this distinction.
Silgan Dispensing, a global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of highly engineered pumps and sprayers in the home, health and beauty markets, today announces that two of its plants in France, Le Tréport and Lacrost, have attained ISCC* PLUS Certification. Last fall, its plants in Thomaston and Watertown Connecticut also achieved ISCC PLUS Certification.
ISCC PLUS is the industry’s leading certification for the Mass Balance protocol, which enables tracking of recycled or bio-based material in the production of resin. Resin produced using circular materials as part of a Mass Balance process is identical to that made with fossil fuel-based virgin resin.
With the certification, Silgan Dispensing is able to trace the amount of renewable materials used throughout its manufacturing process, which in turn also helps its customers meet their sustainability goals in a way that is measurable and transparent.
“Adding two more ISCC Plus certified facilities is a powerful representation of Silgan Dispensing’s commitment to sustainability,” said Kym Wellons, Vice President of Human Resources, Legal, and Sustainability at Silgan Dispensing. “It furthers our ability to deliver a wide range of solutions to a marketplace increasingly focused on sustainable products.”
Silgan Dispensing is known for carrying one of the industry’s largest selection of post-consumer recycled (PCR) dispensing solutions. With the ISCC certification, the company further expands its range of more sustainable options for beauty, fragrance and personal-care dispensers and sprayers made with ISCC certified material.
“The European market is incredibly attuned to sustainability,” Guillaume de Demandolx, Vice President, Fragrance and Beauty for Silgan Dispensing. “Having two facilities with ISCC Plus certification in the region signifies to our customers that we are continually deepening our capabilities around solutions that help meet their own sustainability initiatives.”
