Sitma, established in 1965, is the world leader in printed media, packaging and distribution systems with over 8,000 systems installed worldwide. Active in over 70 countries, our corporate offices and factory are located in Spilamberto (Modena) in northern Italy.
Sitma began business manufacturing equipment for the packaging industry. Since that time Sitma has expanded and specialized in the graphic arts industry achieving leadership in this business segment by supplying high quality systems dedicated to the newspaper, magazine, book and direct mail / fulfilment industries.
Constant growth enabled Sitma to reach a leading role in the domestic market. Gradually, the know-how was exported through out Europe and to the other continents.
Three subsidiary companies in France, U.S. and Japan and a network of 70 agents worldwide ensure an export share of 70%.
The professional training of our technical, sales and administrative staff combined with a challenging and rewarding working environment has resulted in a minimum turn-over. This has safeguarded the continuity and strategies of the company.
An in-house research and development team of over 55 people ensures continuous innovation, personal knowledge and pride in the complete range of products manufactured.

After using technologies like CAD 2D (ME10) and CAE (EPLAN) for over 20 years, Sitma has invested in the design and optimization of production accuracy and time cycles through the utilisation of new software.
Sitma now has a complete suite of products such as PTC/CoCreate integrated with CAD 3D OneSpace Modelling allowing the design solid models. In addition, PDM (Product Data Management) has been implemented to manage data from different sources and different formats covering all phases of new product development. This includes the project overview, product design and projected maintenance schedules.
Additional tools include Sheet Metal to machine complex parts design from metal sheet, FE Analysis and Advanced Design for the structural calculations and cinematisms, E-drawings and Rendering for the operator and electrical manuals and spare parts manuals with exploded views in 3D.
