Our Company

The Spies Group is comprised of two divisions; mold making and injection molding. These divisions are united in their sole focus on Injection Molded Food Packaging.

As all molds manufactured by Spies are destined for in-house production they form one of the fundamental key stones of our business, as our self contained mold making facility allows the fast development of ideas by manufacture of pilot molds and implementation of short lead times in production molds. It is also worth noting that all of your confidential information is closely guarded by Spies as it is not disclosed to any sub-contractors or third parties.

In the manufacture of food packaging our focus is constantly on the core values of hygiene, consumer safety, quality and flexibility and the fact that Spies is unique in its’ technical capability to deliver first class results underlines this focus. Our specialization in In-Mold Labeling (IML) guarantees the best possible decoration for premium food packaging.

The fact that we are BRC / IOP accredited underlines our commitment to the highest standards of safety and hygiene, this standard defines Europe wide the stringent standards that food producing companies have to adhere to in safety and hygiene issues. Furthermore all stages of production are ISO 2000 compliant.

Mold Making

Plastic packaging is only as good as the mold that it is produced in. Our mold construction department is housed in a dedicated facility and is treated as an independent unit.

With state of the art machinery and trained, highly skilled mold makers all injection molds, from developmental to multi-cavity production molds are designed and manufactured with the highest productivity in mind. Data exchange and precise manufacturing processes ensure that your packaging ideas become reality quickly and cost effectively. Our on-site toolroom undertakes regular planned maintenance on all production molds and is able carry out unforeseen repairs almost immediately.

We pride ourselves on the smooth flow of information between our departments as good communication is vital. Each customer has their own dedicated point of contact who can advise, report on progress and most importantly ensure that agreed changes are implemented quickly and with minimum disruption. Data security and confidentiality is assured as no information is exposed to third parties or sub-contractors.

Production

The Spies of today operates from two modern production plants with high levels of automation and the specialized knowledge of its motivated workforce, a combination that results in production of the highest standard and secures our position as a supplier of premium food packaging. We offer a complete service tailored to the needs of our customers, this can begin with the design and manufacture of the mold and end with just in time delivery.

Naturally, workflow planning and advice are an integral part of the service we provide allowing our customers to benefit from our decades of experience. The actual IML packaging process is undertaken in our two locations, where there are over 100 injection molding machines, most of which use multi-cavity molds. Using automated processes the production is constantly monitored and even the finished product undergoes a stringent quality control – enabling our customers the luxury of assuming a 0% error rate.
