As far as Tecnocap is concerned, Vincap isn't a traditional distributor. They don't just dismantle pallets of its products and sell them at the best price. They add value to the products. With the company's extensive and proven expertise in the packaging industry, coupled with its unique capability of sniffing out the market's future, Vincap is Tecnocap's right arm in Europe.
As Vincap enters its second successful decade, the founders find themselves reflecting on the key issues of their first ten years, and look forward to a future that they believe is full of promise for the packaging industry.
Reflecting on your first ten years with Vincap, what have been the most significant developments in the European packaging industry?
Developments have included switching from glass to PET/HDPE/Pounchers, sustainability and human health issues, as well as packaging legislation.
In the complex market of packaging, Vincap has acted as a market facilitator. What do you do specifically to satisfy both your manufacturers and your end-user customers?
We consider market needs and demands and act accordingly. In other words, we fulfill our promises.
How have the buying trends of your major customers changed over the years?
Tenders have become the norm. Customers are now better informed and consequently are more precise in their demands. JIT deliveries have become the status quo and safety stocks are expected by the customer. Logistics have become more efficient regarding transport, warehousing and bulk packaging.
Do you anticipate any interesting developments in the packaging industry in the near future?
It is a question of getting back to basics. Now that health and wellness have become important, more and more people are reverting to the old practices such as home canning.
Brand owners are now looking to reinforce their brand values through customization of all the packaging components. What has been your experience in this regard?
We are seeing customers now favoring printed and embossed/debossed caps along with custom printed liners.
Why is quality so important in this industry of such great precision?
The market is very demanding and therefore high speed production is imperative. Standstill or out-of-stock situations are never an option for our customers.
What future developments do you see emerging in response to the sustainability movement?
We envisage different choices of raw materials, improved legislation, a decrease in packaging weight, and continued optimization of our transport and packaging solutions.
Were there any new products that you exhibited at the Empack 2015 trade show in s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands?
Yes indeed! We exhibited our new aluminum Unishells there. They have an elegant exterior look, while concealing an interior continuous thread. The choice of aluminum eliminates the possibility of corrosion and contamination. It's both lightweight and increases customer appeal. Thanks to the extensive selection of liners, every need can be accommodated.
The "Bella" Unishell boasts an external tinplate steel shell with a polypropylene threaded interior for a 58-400 finish. This cap has an aesthetically pleasing, wide profile.
Tinplate continuous thread or Unishell closures may be perforated in any combination of holes and on any size cap. This would depend on the package content - scents, candles or spices are just some examples of products that are packed with perforated caps.
