Continuing its strategy of building a platform to provide full service aluminium packaging solutions, Tesem has incorporated metalizing and lacquering processes and has substantially increased its capabilities in plastic injection moulding and decorations.

The integration of the new technology was accomplished through the incorporation of the company Motecsa into Tesem group, thus creating the new Tesem Plastics division. Located near Barcelona, Motecsa has extensive experience in the manufacture and decoration of plastic packaging for perfume and cosmetics. Its processes include plastic injection moulding, metalizing, lacquering and various decorating and engraving techniques.

“Our goal is the in-house development and manufacture of all components of a packaging launch based on metal. Today, the market requires suppliers to have maximum control over projects involving different materials”, said Albert Sala, Managing Director of Tesem Group. “The creation of Tesem Plastics will also allow us to expand our standard product portfolio considerably."

The new processes adds to the company's existing capabilities: aluminium deep-drawing and stamping, product development, anodizing, finishes, decorations, engraving and assembly. All these processes take place in the group’s six production plants, covering a total area of 27,000m2.
