As we mark our fifth anniversary, we look back on the journey that began in October 2019 with the merger of industry leaders Exal Corporation and Ardagh’s Global Food & Specialty business. Trivium combines over 100 years of packaging excellence, creating a name founded on a robust foundation of experience and expertise. Reflecting on our success, we recognise the passion, teamwork, and innovation that have been the driving forces behind our achievements. Our teams truly deserve a High-Five for their efforts!

A High-Five to Sustainability
From the outset, Trivium has embraced sustainability as a guiding and binding principle for the way we operate our business. Using infinitely recyclable metal to produce our packaging is a cornerstone of this approach. Our initiatives to minimise our environmental impact are highlighted by the near-term science-based emissions reduction target recognized by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

As Alice Bazzano, our Sustainability Director, emphasizes: "Our Sustainability team, united by diverse locations and backgrounds, works seamlessly towards our common goal of making a positive impact on the world. These efforts have not only reduced our CO2 emissions, water usage, and waste to landfill but have also earned us EcoVadis Platinum status for three consecutive years and an A-listing for Climate by the Carbon Disclosure Project."

Teamwork in action
The past five years have tested our resilience and teamwork, particularly through global challenges like the pandemic and supply chain disruptions. One notable achievement was establishing our Business Service Center (BSC) during the height of COVID-19, showcasing our teams’ ability to adapt and thrive under challenging conditions. Our BSC was recognised as Hungary’s Best Business Services Firm in 2023 at the CEE Business Services Summit & Awards. Tímea Radics, Head of BSC, says, "Despite the pandemic, which initially made in-person meetings impossible, we successfully built an engaged team. Our team spirit remains strong, fostering an open, transparent, and diverse work environment."

Celebrating together
Our local teams are contributing to the celebration by sharing their own memorable High-Five moments. Many have found creative ways to commemorate this occasion. For instance, in Crosmières, our team demonstrated ingenuity and pride by designing and printing High-Five bottles to celebrate our anniversary. Jan Weinrich, R&D Specialist, explains, "We wanted to be part of the celebration, so we utilised our skills to create these bottles, which will be prominently displayed for visitors and colleagues."

In Roanoke, Plant Manager Luiz Baptistella highlights the importance of recognising both individual and team efforts: “It’s such a great way to recognise people and their efforts – big and small. We've given high-fives to our Quality team for delivering reliable cans serving up family dinners for millions, to our Safety team for helping to ensure our colleagues go home safe and sound every day, and to everybody for living our values and loving what we do."

Our teams are motivated by the vision of creating a positive legacy in the communities we serve. Aislan Pereira, General Manager of Aerosol and Beverage in Brazil, reflects on this journey: “We dreamed big and became the leading aerosol company in Brazil, building a solid foundation through our people, living our values, and generating opportunities for society.”

Looking ahead
The future promises even more excitement, with new challenges and opportunities. We continue our journey of innovation and sustainability, and we look forward to sharing this path with our teams, customers, and the millions of consumers who use our products daily. Thank you for being a part of Trivium’s story!
