In 2023, UDN has kept up with the upgrading needs of the beauty and personal care industry in the ever-changing market environment, and integrated the concept of sustainable development into the core of the company. Driven by innovation and guided by sustainability, UDN has realized significant breakthroughs and growth in various aspects.
We will focus on sharing our product innovation achievements, highlights in sustainability, and honors and recognitions received in 2023.
Product Innovation
This year, UDN has made remarkable achievements in product development and innovation.
The Hair Tube is newly launched. The tube and comb in one, with a special way of dispensing liquid between the teeth, ensures that the inner material reaches the hair roots and scalp fully and accurately.
Classic products such as the Tube-in-Tube, Meteor Rolling Tube and One-piece Tube, with new visual interpretation, ranked among the top three popular products of the year and gained favorable comments at the exhibitions.
UDN's innovative products and creativity have also been highly recognized from the industry.
In September, UDN Tube in Tube and One Piece Tube won the Gold Award and French Design Award respectively at the French Design Award, the highest design award in France, and the Silver Award at the MUSE Design Award in the United States.
In December, UDN was awarded the 2023 Shenzhen Specialized and Sophisticated SMEs. This is undoubtedly an important milestone for enterprises, as it signifies that we will enter the next stage of growth, increase investment in technological innovation, and steadily transform in the development of intelligence and digitization.
This year, we have also innovated in the way we present our products. Responding to the different style needs of brand customers, we have launched set designs for color cosmetics, skincare and other categories, so that brand customers can more intuitively see the application scenarios of the products.
Carrying our innovative products, UDN participated in six exhibitions, namely Shanghai International Luxury Packaging Exhibition, the 3rd BEYOND International Technology and Innovation Expo, Shanghai 2023 PACKCON China Packaging and Container Exhibition, South China International Beauty Expo, COSMOPROF CBE ASEAN Beauty Expo, and Beauty Supply Chain Expo Asia-Pacific 2023, in which we won several awards. This has not only increased our brand exposure, but also further proved our market leadership.
Highlights of Sustainability Development
In October 2023, UDN upgraded its environmental protection concept from 3R to 5R, injecting the new concepts of "Replace raw materials" and "Renew environmentally friendly materials" on top of the original concepts of "Reuse", "Reduce" and "Recycle" to form a systematic environmental protection practice centered on 5R.
From the three perspectives of environmentally friendly raw materials, low-loss production process, and consumer recycling, we help companies reduce their carbon footprint and build sustainable brands in an all-round way.
To this end, UDN has introduced environmentally friendly materials, including bio-materials, marine materials and PCR, to reduce the environmental impact of packaging from the source.
This has brought UDN into the spotlight at numerous exhibitions, and we were honored to be selected as one of the APEC's "Sustainable Consumption and Production" Growth Cases of the Year, as well as a finalist for the LUXEPACK SHANGHAI Green Revolution Award at the International Luxury Packaging Fair in Shanghai.
In addition to industry accolades, UDN's sustainable packaging materials are also highly anticipated by the market. In UDN's annual survey, more than half of brand customers showed interest in the eco-friendly materials, and said they look forward to further cooperation in the coming year.
In 2023, UDN is actively embracing the concept of environmental protection and integrating it into our lives and management. In particular, the company launched the "Adopt a Tree" campaign on Arbor Day. This program not only demonstrates our commitment to environmental protection, but also encourages employees and the community to participate in truly green initiatives.
