Universal Flexible Packaging - Expansion Plans
Universal Flexible Packaging – UFP – is a family-run business that opened in 1995. We started as a packaging film supplier, but since then we have grown to become an industry leader in flexible packaging. We have expanded into contract packaging, added cardboard packaging to the portfolio and can now receive, pack, box, label, store and deliver almost anything apart from, currently, powdered goods.
Every development of the company has been in response to, or in anticipation of, our customer’s needs. We innovate for success; we develop to provide a more complete service; we listen; we learn; we improve at every step. That’s why, for example, operating on two sites allows us to have a dedicated site for peanuts & tree nuts and an active recycling and waste reduction policy.
We know that good customer service comes from knowing and understanding our clients, anticipating their needs and being ready to deliver what they want, when they want it. We do our best to offer a personal service to all sizes of clients, from start-up businesses testing the market for a new product to multiples and multinationals who want a company that they can rely on to deliver on time, every time.
EXPANSION PLANS
• £11 million investment relocating to a larger factory as part of a major expansion drive.
• The New state of the art factory measures 120,000 sqft which is three times the size of the current premises.
• We will be a 2 site operation during 2016 allowing us to have a dedicated site for peanuts & tree nuts
The relocation will help the group boost annual turnover from £16 million in this financial year to a target of £25 million in three years.
• The business has been expanding throughout the recessionary years and we are well placed to grow our sales in flexible food packaging both within our client base and for new clients around the UK. The move will increase our production capability across all product lines and to increase our dedicated space for popcorn production.
• Work on the interior refit of the Lewisher Road factory has already begun and it is intended that the move from Lunsford Road will be completed by summer 2015.
