Wapo recently received two prestigious food quality and control certifications, further demonstrating the company's great commitment to upholding sound packaging practices in order to ensure the best possible company, client, and industry outcomes. Wapo received these most recent ISO 22000:2005 and HACCP Code:2003 certifications in September.
Under these certificates Wapo is recognized for having the capability to control the quality and safety of food in accordance with the License Agreements. The registration covers the manufacturing and printing of plastic, foil, and paper packaging goods.
ISO 22000:2005 specifies requirements for a food safety management system where an organization in the food chain needs to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe at the time of human consumption.
HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) is a science-based food safety management system that has become the preferred method of ensuring safe food all over the world. The HACCP approach to food safety is based on a detailed examination of every stage in the production process for an individual food product. The objective is to identify where and when hazards could occur and to design effective controls for each hazard.
