Weber International Packaging has just released that it is adding new PET bottle production machinery to meet the current demand. The decision was made to add more PET bottle lines after considering customer requests and analyzing market trends.

"We work a lot in HDPE and PP, and admittedly in PVC," said Janice Bailey, Weber's current Sales Director, "but we're phasing out that last material. A nationwide ban is taking effect in Canada, and in the USA it's happening at the state level. In California, for example. PET is a cleaner, more easily recyclable material, and the resulting packaging is far more attractive, brighter, and generally less impacting on the environment."

In order to ensure the highest level of quality for its customers, Weber has traditionally produced bottles and caps to be purchased together as a set, thereby guaranteeing a perfect fit and a superlative consumer experience. Hence, Weber's unique snap on caps worked with Weber bottles designed to house them. With regard to PET, Weber has offered standard screw neck bottles for some time, so clients can use them with their preferred closure.

According to Weber, establishing a higher volume of PET production is the right direction to be moving toward. Many customers are switching to PET from PVC, glass, and other materials Weber's experienced team are there to help them make the transition as smoothly and with as little impact to their operations as possible.

With regard to manufacturing PET bottles, Weber has its current and upcoming clients covered with new machines purchased and en route and new facilities being prepared to meet the demand.
